Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) is an analytical technique for elemental determinations in the concentration range of major to trace based on the principles of atomic spectroscopy. This article provides a description of the basic atomic theory, and explains the analytical procedures and various interference.. Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy. The ICP-AES is an analytical technique based on the principles of atomic spectroscopy for the determination of more than 70 elements with detection limits in the parts per billion to parts per million range. In theory, the technique allows us to analyze all elements except argon.
